Ossia Youth Choir is a mixed voice choir which was established in September 2011 by conductor Carmel Whelan. Our members are currently aged between 9 and 16 years of age. New members are always welcome. No audition is required and no previous experience or sight reading abilities are necessary – all you need is some enthusiasm and an interest in singing!
Ossia performs a modern repertoire including songs from popular artists such as Katy Perry, Adele, Florence and the Machine, Kings of Leon and Coldplay. Recent concerts and performances include ‘Amazing Voices’ – an evening of choral singing in aid of Mental Health Ireland and a carol service for Fairview Parish with the CIE Male Voice Choir.
We are joined each week on piano by our accompanist Sarah Lawlor. Accomplished Irish tenor Niall Gallagher also joins the choir to give vocal workshops throughout the year.
Rehearsals take place each Wednesday at 7pm in Clasac (Comhaltas Regional Resource Centre) on the Alfie Byrne Rd., Clontarf, Dublin 3.
